Environmental/Agricultural Consultant
Basis: Ongoing full-time or part-time (minimum 24 hours per week) with a 6 month trial period.
Location: Cadeema’s Shepparton office with occasional fieldwork across Victoria and New South Wales.
Remuneration: Negotiated with preferred applicant based on experience (full-time equivalent indicative range of $100k – $120k + superannuation).
We are seeking a motivated consultant with expertise in both environmental and agricultural sectors. You will work closely with stakeholders to provide strategic advice and implement solutions that enhance sustainable land management and agricultural productivity while protecting natural resources.
Your key responsibilities will include:
– conducting desktop and on-site environmental and agricultural assessments to identify any risks and opportunities;
– undertaking soil and/or water sampling and monitoring to facilitate those assessments;
– preparing written reports translating assessments into practical recommendations on sustainable and productive land management and farming practices;
– managing projects including associated administration duties and client relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery;
– supporting business development efforts, including networking and preparing quotations and tender responses; and
– contributing to internal knowledge-sharing and professional development initiatives, such as template and protocol enhancements.
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in agriculture and environmental science/natural resource management, who can demonstrate:
– a degree in a relevant field such as Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline;
– at least 3-5 years of professional experience in agricultural consultancy, environmental management, or a related field;
– a technical understanding of crop/pasture nutrition, soil management and farming irrigation practices;
– a basic understanding of environmental regulations;
– strong skills in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication;
– proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans;
– proficient report writing and analytical skills;
– ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
– a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management; and
– ability to manage multiple projects.
